Default NiCD vs NiMH

Yesterday at the track i wanted to buy a charger from someone. But the charger said to only charger NiCD batteries. The guy that sold it to me said that it will work on NiMH. So willl it really or did i just lose 30 bucks?

I would start going by what the companys say about their products. If they said only nicd then there is probably a reason for it. You could have bought a new charger for that anyway.
