O-rings don't seem to hold up very well and are a pain to glue in. I use orange GRP foam inserts. My foam is 8-10mm tall. I also cut them in a big enough circumfrence that they cover the "vent" hole you create during the mod. It really helps to cut down on maintenance.

The new caps that come on the 8ight 2.o eu are vented where the shock attaches to the shock standoff. IMO this will be even better for keeping out dirt and debris.

I know drake and truhe and ficsher run foam under the shock cap because billy explained to me how to do it.

You use a touring car foam about 1/4 inch thick or whatever 7mm equals out to.

Then you take a 13mm shock body or 1/10th scale shock body, and put the small end into the drill and then take sand paper to the other end and make it sharp enough to cut the foam.

Then it makes a perfect circle.

You put the hole close to the middle of the cap about 1/16th or so away.

Hope this helps

They're made for the EU spec buggy, so it should be no problem getting them over here.

I've had no issues using o-rings in my shocks. I've had a race day and a training day on them so far, and no problems so far.

Those are on the list of parts OK to sell in the USA. I think the caps are around $25/pair and $4 for the foam. They are supposed to be out mid-April.

i have seen the o-ring method that you glue two o-rings together but do u glue them to the inside of the shock top for do you just let them float about behind the bladder?

http://www.rc-car.com/index.php/site/article/140/

i found this but do the o-ring method work better than the foam method?
