Thats not it(if it's a new kit), the hole will be directly on top of the cap. I am building some sets for some customers and will take some pictures asap.

I can also build them for anyone who may not feel easy about doing it. It's $10 per set on new shocks(includes orings and oil if needed). Shocks come back ready to go.

On used Shocks it's $10 plus parts(includes 8 o-rings for the mod). In some cases new bladders are needed.

The shocks on the 1.0 and 2.0 are identical. Thats one of the things that was "perfect" on the 1.0

I took some pics ,but they were blurry.
heres ther skinny. well at least what I did. I used a .065 drill or 1/16" drilled a hole in the top of the shock cap.Make sure you drill on the inside of the circle(look inside shock cap to see.)I got pieces of on road tire foam from a Losi team driver who cuts them onto 4 little discs to support the bladder. I wil try again tonight when I maybe get to work on my truggy.Too many paintjobs to do to play r/c mechanic. I will tell you though the mod is awesome and makes the ride ht very consistnt when the chassis and the shocks and all get heat soaked or warm I guess I have not started taking shock temps so... I did try a softer foam before the on road tire, and it did work, but you do need to support the bladder so you may want to mess around with different densities even perhaps. I went what was proven to work and/or help in the end. I am curious bout shock temps now hmmmmmmm nevermind

I have also done this shock cap mod to my shocks with great results but with the o rings and not the tire foams. I've read that alot of guys are useing tire foams of different densities too and wondered if there would be any benifits to this. I guess I could do up one set with foams and keep the set with the o rings and see if there is any difference.

Like someone said earlier this was posted in one of the magazines but I can't remember which one. Basically just a tiny hole straight down beside the mounting hole. If you look at the inside of the shock cap there is a machined ring inside there. This hole will end up on the inside of the ring (near the center.) Then two of the shock seal o-rings glued together and then glued to the center of the shock cap on the inside, just be sure the new hole is not covered by the o-rings when they are glued to the shock cap.

If I knew which mag it was i'd scan the quick little article and post the picture.

Ok I found the article. The new hole isn't quite near the center of the center ring like I thought. It's still inside the machined ring inside the shock cap but the hole is towards the outer edge of the ring. They say to use a #56 drill bit.

RC-Car Magazine June 2009 Volume 12 No. 6 back on page 96 and 97.

If no one has posted pics by the time I get home from work tonight I'll scan this article and post it up.

I did the rears on my 8T 2.0 and it works just like the others. Its a real easy cheap mod and it works great.

Ok. I hope these pics turn out ok. I'm not sure how to get the super large pics on the thread. So just click on the thumbnails and enlarge them.
