Best Tire for right after they water?
 

My track sometimes waters in between certain numbers of heats. If your race/qualifier is right after they water, typical race tires (hole shots, city blocks, bow ties, crime fighters) get caked, then powdered with dust to the point where they look like slicks made out of dirt

Is there a good tread pattern that can race semi-wet qualifiers and mains well? I'm guessing one with a less dense pin pattern that wont pick up mud as unsprung weight. Maybe have some inside pins cut out? or even run badlands? haha

It's not fun to slam the throttle to kick off all the mud and cake everyone in the pits as you get fueled.

XTR crimefighters work most of the time for me

That happens alot here with truggies cause the buggy guys cry so much hahahahaha j/k kinda - but no matter what tires you use mud will get ckaed up on your tired for a bit. as the race goes on it will come off mostly. Bow ties are good in the situation because the thread is wide.

The Losi 2.0 kit tires work good for me in those conditions.

step pins work great in the wet dirt it does cake up a little but i comes off fast i think they would work the same on 1/8 buggy ,i had them on my gt2 and they were great

x2 for Bow Ties. They are my tire of choice for tacky tracks. They have more space between the lugs which helps keep mud from packing in the grooves like a crimefighter would.

It sounds like your track is watering TOO much if every racing tire is getting that caked with mud. :weird: maybe less water, or wait longer for it to soak in before putting cars on the track........

I would have to agree also with the bowties.
they have the spread out pattern which is nice and also balloon well on power to help clean a little mud off.

My tire choice in this situation would by panther k2. The bowties still pack up to much when the track in wet.

Holeshots are king at Hot Rod's :nod:

i hose down my bow-ties with wd-40 and the dirt won't stick.:weird: yes it really works!!!! but it feels like you're on ice for the first couple of warm up laps, it will ware off and the mud won't stick.

What other tires work at hot rod? I've tired I-Beams and Calibers, but I think they were making my buggy traction roll. I don't really like how cityblocks work and Holeshots don't last. The only one that have really worked for me are revolvers and XBTs.

holeshots and gridirons are the best, i can normally get 2 full races out of a set of M3 holeshots
