Team Losi 8ight 1.0 to 2.0 conversion

does anybody know exactly what all parts are different and what is compatible with between the 1.0 and 2.0 losi 8ight buggies?

i know im not the only one that would like to convert my 1.0 chassis to 2.0 to save some dough. it would be cool to know exactly what parts are different.

thanks for your help !:sneaky:

To do the complete conversion to everything 2.0, you will probably spend almose enough to buy a 2.0. If you just want to do the chassis, towers and some of the other new parts, it certainly can be done. Every part is interchangable between them.

Here are some of the more important parts....

2.0 Chassis,
2.0 center rear driveshaft,
2.0 front and rear shock towers,
2.0 radio tray,
2.0 steering plastics and ackerman plates,
2.0 rear outer hinge pins,
2.0 rear upright hubs,
2.0 rear arms(or you can drill out 1.0 arms for the bigger pins),
2.0 side guard set,
2.0 linkage kit
2.0 shimmable rear gearbox
2.0 center driveshaft grease boots
2.0 brake plates and discs...

There is a LOT more that can be done, but to me those are the most noticable things.

All of those parts can be found here

If it was me, I would also get the aluminum servo saver top, and a KHZ front tower over the losi one(the earlier version breaks, and you have no way of knowing what version you are getting).

You would need 2 brand new, never run cars. And then find someone who wants to spend the time having the cars in the exact same condition. Zero dirt, zero chassis wear, no wheels/tires on, no engines, no pipes, no fuel, and no electronics. Then that would be as close as possible.

Most of us just want to get out and run em'. Practice is much more important than the weight difference.
