Wow, why all the hate for GRP?
They made/make great products, and until the investigation is finished, we may only guess what has happened.
I agree it does look suspicious, but I for one am willing to wait until the truth comes out before throwing a quality R/C company under a bus.

Just sayin

The company was already history. Losi had even removed the engines from thier website. It is pretty easy to put the pieces togather. Company in financial trouble, loss of Mario Rossi, Team drivers bailing, Products being discontinued, equipment removed from factory, 1 week later factory burns in a suspicious fire, company person at the scene of the fire, etc... Now I guess none of us know for "sure", but it is a pretty good bet.

And yes, I am a GRP hater! OS all the way!!!

IMO, GRP caused there own demise. Product was over-priced and under achieving. First GRP based motor I owned, after tearing it down, I sold it. I figured for what they cost to buy and maintain, I was better off with a Novarossi or Axe Rossi if I ran an italian motor. There is a reason why Mugen Seiki shifted from GRP to O.S.

In my personal experience, I know the owner of Nitrohouse has 13 gallons on his GRP Ninja 21 w/o any rebuilds and it screams, I have 6-7 on mine and its faster than ever, and 2-3 on my Ninja .28. I do know of a few people that have had tuning issues with them, but all mine have been great, and very high quality; as with their tires/wheels.
But for every brand someone likes there is someone who hates it, lol

Go onroad racing with one of their motors. You'll never buy one again. I do love their onroad tires though. Guess I need to switch soon.

Now that you mention it I do remember hearing some bad things about their onroad engines, but I thought they had resolved it

The onroad engines had rod failures due to the lowend bushing rotating at high RPM. It closed off the oil feed hole and seized to the crankpin, destroying the motor.

its kind of odd the fire started in multiple places at once not a very wise plan on their part.

my guess is that a employee was pissed at them for something and poured nitro fuel allover the place,a guy i raced with had the non tuned grp and it seem to tune good and it was a big time screamer he had to do all kind of things to slow it down
