Default Temp gun

Hello

I'm new to nitro cars and find I am in need of a temp gun. Are they all the same or is there one that's better? Is there any that I should avoid?

Thanks
James

well I don't race yet so I think $260 for a temp gun may be a little to much for now. but thanks for the info.

since all your doin is bashin grab the duratrax. if you want a little better product get a Infrared Thermometer. there prob cost 50-100 bucks for a somewhat decent one but thats goin to be a little more precise. i HAD both b4 i started racing. and the duratrax at times was 15 deg off

I have a Craftsman temp gun, easy to use, and dead accurate.
$70 well spent.

I was thinking about picking up one these at sears. It has everything you need and if it craps out I can just take it back to any sears and get new one, not having to wait for shipping.

Raytec won't be that far off. I've had 2 occassions to compare my Raytec with an Exergen and have not see more the a 3F diff at temps between 245-280F.

I've got a DT Flashpoint as well, its not as good and I've seen it be way off if the surface you're temping is shiny.
