Default Just bought a Traxxas Slayer

Cant wait to give it the shakedown tomorrow morning then let it rip. Watched and drove a friends Revo platinum and decided to go nitro. But the RTR factor of the Slayer kept the cost down considerably. I hope to have a blast with it. Anything i should know ahead of time about these? Must-do upgrades?

Holy hell... this is my first nitro r/c and WOW.

I thought my T4 was quick

Burnt half a jug of fuel this weekend both breaking it in and bashing around at the lake. This thing can take a beating

Rolling over in the turns... almost every turn. <-- Buy sway bar kit? or is there more to it? Its ok on dirt for the most part but grass and asphalt look out, damn near have to slow down to granny speed and use the signal light to keep it on all 4 haha.

All wheel drive donuts FTW!!!

Deff get the sway bar kit, either the traxxas one if its out for it or the tekno kit, I'm not sure bhut the revo sway bar kit from either manufacture should fit as the slayer is using the revo chassis, you'll love the handling once you install them..... Change the springs to gold rear and green front...

yeah i picked up the traxxas revo sway bar kit today, its "supposed to" be a direct fit, the only thing that im wondering about it is, it says you need the revo wing mount #TRX5411 to reattach the bumper? Does that piece apply to the slayer as well? I bought it just in case, no biggie if i have to take it back tomorrow, i will be grabbing springs anyways

I have a slayer as well and love it to death. Right now it is getting a Big block makeover with the Picco .26 red dot. Out of the box the handling will suck. This link will turn your terrible handling slayer into a race truck

I've had my Slayer for about 2 months now. New suspension or at least new springs will help a ton. The sway bar kit helped a lot, but it still likes to roll over. The one thing that helps the most is getting ur alignment/toe/camber just right. After messing with mine for days I've got it set perfect. Only thing I have broken is one of the CVD's (axles) which have been known to break. I also blew my throttle servo out this weekend, but no big deal I have tons of old servos.

I think the best investment for these trucks is a roll cage, especially if you plan on jumping it. Also get a pre-filter cover for the air filter; helps a lot.

The truck comes pretty well equipped out of the box IMHO.
