Default Questions about my new v spec

Do these things normally have this hot of a midrange? When I hit the straightaway, it just HAULS suddenly once it gets about 1/2 way down the straight. Hauls, as in, looks like it's about to take flight..LOL. I'm not ready to race tune it yet, because it's just broken in, but can you richen up that midrange and smooth the powerband out? Or is that just how this thing rolls?

Try the JP3 or the Losi RE-11 pipe..that will smooth her out

I have a new speed and I have been told never, never touch the mid range needle. You will never get it back to that sweet spot. I guess you could but you have to be a master engine tuner. JP4 should be a pretty smooth pipe. The RE-11 which is an OS 2050 will tame down the top end, or so I am told. Best pipe for these engines is the OS 2060 it was designed for them. I am running a dyn 053 on mine and its just ok. Needs more top end.

My RE-11 does not tame down the top end..I like the JP3 better but I get 2-3 minutes more run time with the Re pipe

if u want it tamed down get a lower restrictor. i believe 8 comes stock so get a 7. ill most likely be movin my 6.5 from my nova into the vspec when i get the 6 for it. i believe they work together

Are you still running in the motor? Use a fuel with 16% until it is broken in

I've run a couple of grp's and this v-spec is very hard to get used to. the power is crazy...... the grp was incredibly smooth, I might put my grp tuned pipe on my v-spec and see what happens.

????????????? Who wants to tame it down???????????

I was replying to Frank, who says the RE-11 tamed down his top end. I don't believe that to be the case at all..I surely found the JP-3 to be the overall smoothest powerband, with tons of snap throughout, and pulls forever.

I run a 7 MM restrictor

I had an unrelated question, but didn't want to start a
New thread. With my brake settings, how soon should they engage? Mine don't engage until about halfway. Shouldn't they engage a little sooner?

Either get the eb mods pipe..i think 2041, or splurge and get the os pipes 2050/2060 ...havent tried the losi pipes but people say there good...with the pipes designed for it you'll get best possible fuel mileage.
