Default ZIP TIE

This maybe a dumb question but why am I seeing people putting zip ties in the top fin of there engine head? I have seen a ton of pics where people have four ties on the top fin.

If you run your R/C's with the bodies on them the chances of scratching the head goes WAAAY down... Not to mention the zip tie on the head looks dorky..

Like everyone has said, its not necessary at least for offroad. As far as onroad its a good idea if you are running on asphalt.
