shame on horrizon and JR

+1 for Hitec. I've run JR, Futaba, and Hitec and have to say that for the price, specs, and warranty service Hitec is the best. I like the fact that their servos are well made and stay tight for a long time. My JR9000T's are still going, but with a bit of slop in it. I had a couple of 9000T's fry, but was able to get Horizon to warranty them and send me back some new servo's. JR's are good, it's just in my book the Hitec's are a little better in quality, but also in the warranty department. I only had to claim a couple of older hitecs on warranty and it was smooth and easy. I've yet to have a problem with their 5955, 5995, or 7955 servos.

What do you feel it is? After reading around I think JR might have a problem with the 9100 series servos in the torque versions only. HVT's that is. Some have went out from what I have read with only a few laps on them, some make it a little longer..
For what ever reason the guys who use the speed versions have no issues, losi, mugen, etc... weird.
I would not think it's the car. That's going way back. I was talking to a guy who had some hitecs or Airtronics in for months...same servos in his buggy(2.0) and for 2-3 months in a 2.0 T with no issues. Went to the hvt torques and boom, started having issues. That's enough to tell me it's a servo problem.

Ya, Hitec owns the nitro servo market right now..... its funny though, there stuff was junk 6 yrs ago...
I've got pics from the niro pit with Drakes cars with hitec in them... o ya and maifield, cav, tebo... on and on and on, I had a couple JR given to me a couple years ago... brand new in the package and they barely lasted the weekend, the gears were so slopped out the thing didnt even want to center, it did the "wiggle" and they only had a couple hours on them.... poo

JR servos have always been kinda suspect IMO but Ive never heard anyone complain they couldnt get them warrantied. Usually even though the poor guy has just DNFed and had to scramble to get their car fixed they still smile and say at least their covered.
Did you send the servo in? All of my experiences with Horizons customer service have been great. Ive sent in Spektrum stuff with stupid little notes it looks like a kid wrote and got new stuff in the mail a couple weeks later.
I too run Hitec 5955s in my car. I love them and plan to buy a couple 7955 at some point. I do wish they came with shorter leads and used a 3mm screw though.
I used to run 5925 in all my cars but within the first year of owning 6 Hitec had replaced 8 servos. As they came back new I sold them all and replaced them with other brands. They were fast and strong but it wasnt worth the hassle if they werent reliable. The 5955 and 7955 have the motor in them from the robotic servos which is why they are so rock solid even on an unregulated lipo.

I am on the Hitec train as well. I had been running Futaba 9351's which are very nice but now that I am running a 2 cell lipo minus a regulator the 7955's just cant be beat. Super strong and reliable. I buy all of my own stuff and have no support therefore I want the best value for my dollar and I believe I have found it.

Thats horizon for ya.I would have loved to see that guys face when you told him that servo was in horizons truggy. The one they put a JR650 in and call it race ready. If a 9100 can't handle the load of steering the Eight T how the hell do they expect a 650 to handle it.I haven't heard any of Losi's team drivers defending them.....RIPOFF

I'll throw another vote in for Hitec. I have had nothing but good luck w/my servos from them. Their warrenty is great and so is their customer service
I had a servo in my 1/10 scale losi xxt from 10+ years ago (back when losi was losi and not horizon) and it is still running strong.
Hitec all the way

Yeah I shortened mine too. I couldnt fit the wires in the box of the RC8 with the battery
I went right to the circuit board unsoldered the ends clipped them to length and resoldered them up. Its not really hard with a good iron.

+1 for Hitec.
Futaba brushless not bad either, mine is still in since 2008 NATs.
