I am new to nitro and after rebuilding a schumacher fusion 28 i though i might have had it down a bit.

But that engine was a pull start and fired up right away....


Im working on a HPI of some sort....

It has one of those motors where u put the drill bit into it to crank....

Problem is im not getting that popp popp popp sound that u usually hear when u normally crank a motor.... is there something im missing?

I thought it might have been a fuel issue but i sucked enough fuel into my mouth that i know there is fuel in the line....

Any suggestions?

ok i checked the glow plug and it looks fine, gets red when in the started....

I realized the hole i was sticking the drill into looks like an outdrive cut and there for needed a flat head screw driver.

I am not getting the deep popping sound of hte engine turning off, and when i cover the exghaust hole i saw fuel filll up the line.... but it still wont turn over.... just makes that pop pop pop sound as if its trying to start/...

Sounds like you might have a worn "One way bearing" can you or have you tried turning the engine over with you finger using the clutch flywheel? IF you are trying to spin the engine over and not hearing the compression or not getting the engine to spin fast enough ... like maybe the one way is catching every other spin... then you won't hear the pop .. or compression of the engine, and the motor will not start... Hope that make sense.. sounds like you need a new one way bearing.

Im getting the engine turning over sounds now....

Turns out it need a flat head screw driver on the end of the drill. THe drill btw is a 6v electric hand drill, is that enough speed to start the motor?

Its making the popping engine noise, but not firing. I checked the plug and it lights red, but the needle on the want drops from green to red really fast. Im going to try charging the wand for a bit and give it another shot... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I dont think i have anything around the house i can use to make shift something...
