Default taking the plunge, switching to bump box!

So after the TigerDrive debacle, its time to make the jump to the box.

Turns out I only broke the back plate on the Mutilator and not the case like I thought I had (see my tigerdrive thread if you care), so I am shit-canning the tigerdrive and putting the pullstart back on, and selling it. (keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section, nice Mutilator with a newly resleeved force 28)

Anyway, I will then only have the Losi 8t, as I sold the Lightning, Kyosho and finally my buddys CEN GST, so I can concentrate on one vehicle.

What do I need to remove the spin start from the losi and replace it with a plain bump start back cover? Does Losi make one or what? Can I bump start it with the flywheel it already has on it, or do I need to swap that out too, if so what do I need?

I am looking at the Losi 8T bump box with a hangar 9 gell cell and charger, is that the best way to go?

I just did this to my sons 1.0 RTR buggy. You have to get new engine mounts so it lowers the fly wheel so that the wheel hits the bump wheel. Below is a link for the back plate that you need. If they dont have it in stock losi part house does.

Oh and when do it just pull the original spin start back plate off. You will also pull another plate off and there will be a spring that pops out. You will not re use any of those parts. It only fits one way and will only fit if you have everything out that needs to be out.

Its really easy to do. You can just use the stock Losi mounts if you dont want to pay the extra cash for the easy change mounts.

Buy the Losi quick change engine mounts. Dont buy the stock mounts. This will save you some time and a major headache when you need to change your clutch bell bearings.

I recently switched over to starter box. As a matter of fact, I actually really liked the spin start. I had this $70 race nimh battery, so it started my old engine from a new mach 427 over immediatly every time. Cant wait to see how powerful 2 race batteries and 2x 775 motors are.
