the 23's will work but you Need a 4 cell....with a 3 cell you will be working the pack to the max....a regular gel cell is usually 12.6static and 13+ after a charge....dual stick packs run out 14.8v....a 3 cell tops out at 12.6 which will only last for a short while....then you are Below the voltage of even a plain old gel cell.....3 cell's are for radio's.

what is gonna give me more power out of my starter box... if i run 2 4000mah lipo 2 cell batteries in series? or if i run 1 4cell lipo like the losi one specifically for starter boxes (i think the losi one is 2200mah).
it would certainly seem like the 2 batteries in series would give me much more power, but i am not sure when it comes to this lipo stuff

I'm using an ofna chrome top box with a losi 14.8v 2200mah lipo, works the BALLS. It even turns over my tight new v-spec.

dual packs will Smoke the motor's....they are in reality Too powerful....most 550's would take a dump sooner then later with High end High Mah stick packs wired as 1....i run the cheeper brand ebay 4 cells for 1/3 the price.

Here's Air8 explanation

2s2p 6000mAh 7.4V @ 20C = 120 amps.

4s1p 2000mAh 14.8V @ 15C = 30 amps.

pballer2777 14.8v is a 4 cell.

so do u think i should just stick with the stock motors and rewire the box with the lipo. my motors r still good i was just trying to avoid a problem.

go for it...worst that will happen is the motor's go puff.....I pouched out my motor's and my pack was fine afterward's....so i think JamminKrazy's case was a fluke or 1 in a 1000 case.......then you can get the 23T's if needed....the wiring and lipo really do wake the box up and make it perform like the best of em....the Alignment of the chassis to the wheel is also very important....line up the box with the motor off the chassis and position the wheel so you get full contact while not touching the chassis itself.

Dump the losi box and buy an ofna truggy start. If you want to keep 1 box, do the mod that Frank did to his. I dumped my losi box, and bought 2 ofna truggy start boxes. Never looked back. The losi box ceases to be easy when it won't start your cars, and is popping motors left and right. The design of the losi box is awesome, but the execution of the design leaves a LOT to be desired. You can only polish a turd so far. I did all kinds of stuff to my losi box before I dumped it. Deans wire, many different power sources, soldered every connection, and the end result was still a turd! Losi box is not worth it's weight in lead.

There is a way the fit both buggy & truggy on the ofna box. I'll get some pics up to show you what I mean asap.
