I'm wanting to buy a buggy...I've read all the reviews and everyones opinion

I can get the AE for about 80 bucks cheaper then the 2.0...

Looking at getting a RTR, only downside to the rtr of the rc8 is the .28 isn't legal in buggy around here.


But I would have an extra motor for my RC8T...

What should I do?

if your getting a rtr go eight 2.0 rtr, otherwise both chassis are great. the rc8 is more fragile i hear. if you have a 8t i suppose you may want a rc8 for continuity.

Matt Griffen is an Australian Champion and races for Accociated and O.S. he has raced the RC8 for a few years now and has given the buggy a few good coments. in the aussie magizine RACING LINES he does a number of articles to do with maintaining and tuning and uses this buggy to demontrate these comcepts.

From what I see at the track the AE car is not as durable as the Losi car. Each handle differently. Go with the parts support which ever is more available in your area. My vote is for the 2.0 the car is stable and drives fast, but I am biased to Losi. After switching from Kyosho I just love the Losi cars.

well the new rc8b 2.0 is supposed to be stronger but it isnt coming out intill the middle of june or so i would check out there website and see if they made the suspension arms thicker and everything else. i was gone to get a rc8 the old one but i seen a couple of guys brake them if they drove them to hard but the guys who are better drivers and dont drive too hard with it rarely brake just dont drive it to hard . but i would just get the new rc8b 2

The RC8 is plenty durable if you boil the plastics. I haven't broken yet since I started boiling.

Its tough both are really good cars. If your a good driver you wont break a RC8 to often. Losi cars do take the "beginners" crashes a lot better over the RC8. At my local track the Losi is never in the A, unless its a sponsored driver that shows up. The new RC8B is coming with some better plastic and just a few changes. The car is really setup to win and after this plastic issues has been solved (which is done) I'm sure it wont be as fragile as the original RC8.

Also you should be able to race a RTR .28 at your club as long as you keep it with the stock pipe. I know that's the rule at most of the tracks here in the mid west.

If you're looking at either of these in RTR form then the Losi 8 2.0 is the only choice. Nothing else is even remotely as well equipped out of the box and the Losi is a proven chassis.

joeytherocket none of the usual racers with the losi eight 1.0 or the 2.0 dint make it in the a main man there most be a lot of sponsored guys at your track or they never driven a 2wd truck

The RC8 is a great car - you can purchase the rtr and yes keep the .28 as a spare for your Truggy. As for another motor, you should look into the Axe Rossi Sport motor, it's sells for around the $250 to $270 Aus dollar mark from what I have seen.

Both cars are equally durable. Both cars run great, and both cars are capable of winning each weekend. I run AE due to factory support from local AE drivers.

The RC8 is really a durable car. What is it with people complaining about how fragile an RC8 is??
Both cars are fast - faster than most drivers are capable of driving. So choose the one that gets good parts support in your area and enjoy!

I see in your signature you own a RC8T, what is your experience with it? Good or bad. If it is a good truck why shouldn't you choose the RC8 instead of the 2.0?
