Default 8ight 2.0 RTR Engine/servos?

I am interested in getting back into 1/8 buggy racing and was considering the new 8ight 2.0 RTR. Traditionally, buying a RTR is not the way to go because you have to upgrade so many items.

The 2.0 RTR looks like a nice setup overall. Does anyone know the following:

Who makes the engine for the 2.0 RTR buggy? Would this engine be competitive in the club racing level?

Which servos are they including for throttle and steering?

The Losi 350 engine will most likely be the same as the new Dynamite Mach 2 .21 which are all manufactured by SH Engines. There are many people interested in this engine and it should prove to be a decent engine for backup and club racing.

We havent' had any good pictures of the electronics included with the new 2.0RTR so it's hard to say. The car hasn't quite been released to the public yet.

They are JR you can see them in the pics on losi.com
You can't make out what JR servos they are. I would imagine it would be the first thing I would upgrade If I bought it. The RTR package is the best out there. Sealed backplate motor with a starter box "that pretty freeking cool for a RTR".

I've got the 2.0 rtr on back order also, but the serevos will be the first thing I change out most likley. I have had good luck with the 9100t's and have a couple laying around, my thought is to break it in using the factory servos then swaping them to the 91's before we go race. it's either that or tear the buggy down check everything and install the servos at that time....the other first upgrades will be shock towers as the ones it comes with look like they will bend to easly.....as for the motor We will use it for club racing untill we deside on witch one to go with.

It's a nice package, you may want to upgrade to four clutch shoes down the road as well.

Ya the good thing about being on back order is it allows me to get some extra parts before it getes here...... the clutch shoes are a good idea also, I've picked up some composit shoes and all four types of clutch springs as I'm still unsure of how my sons driving style will be driving it....

i thought the 2.0 RTR already had a 4-shoe clutch? or did they change it from the regular 8ight?

Its got the 4 shoe flywheel with only 2 shoes so all you need to do is add the other 2. As far as servos it comes with a Jr z650 for steering and the same Jr z270 for thottle. I read this in RC Driver magazine. I would move the 650 to throttle if you only wanted to buy one servo. By a Z9100t for steering.
