Default novarossi n21b rotostart vs os 21vg rotostart

which motor would be better in a losi 8ight? i mostly run on small and medium tracks. they both are 2hp peak. i dont run the 8ight much so i dont want to spend alot. which one will last longer?

The Novarossi is a better value, IMO. I'm also guessing the Novarossi will outlast the VG.

I like OS V-Spec engines (see my current sig), but I personally wouldn't buy the VG model. It seems to be an OS in name only, as if there is little/no lineage to the V-Spec.

The Novarossi N21B has rave reviews. Amainhobbies.com can't seem to stock them fast enough to keep up with demand for them.

get the nova n21bf. Im running the 2000 model for a bump box and for a 3 port it screams with my dynamite 086 pipe. Havent heard much good about the vg though.

I'm telling you right now to scratch the VG right off your list. You must not have done any research on it (don't worry I didn't either - I figured it was an OS ) Absolutely one of the worst performers for the money and will not last you very long. 95% of the engines that price on the market will be a 100% better choice. Dig a little deeper or just trust me
By the time you have your last answer here from everyone else I guarantee they will have you buying the NR. Good luck

I run the Nova without the roto in a Losi 8 and love it.

I am a former VG owner. Power wise its is about 50-60% of a vspec. I did a wheelie with it my old Mugen. I had it rebuilt twice by OS under the 2yr warenty before selling it. It lasted it 2 gallons each time. When say rebuilt they replace the piston and sleeve and rear bearing. I would go with the Novarossi.

No comparison between the two. VG is junk, nova is an awesome budget engine. I myself love OS's other engines(v-spec based), but the vg just doesn't cut it. It lacks power and has horrible lifespan. It is not even an ABC constructed engine. I would stay away from roto start though. Much better to get a bump box. Roto starts only add a place for failure and rob power.

Being that it is a 3 port engine, it is mainly a bottom end engine. Pair it with a dynamite 086 and it will scream all around!
