i posted a different thread about my vspec just all of a sudden acting weird and dying when i apply full throttle. I torn it down and inspected and i can push the piston all the way to the top of the sleeve.

Cant tell from the fuzzy picture but the piston in mine that is worn out wont go that high. How much does the rod move around on the crank?

Not only does it look worn out, it looks like it's about to fade away...NINJA VANISH!

i have a few questions
how much force did you use to get it to the top like that?
does it just easily slide up to the top like that or
did you have to give it a good push to the top?
despite the unclear picture, everyones already pointing out
that its worn
how many gallons did you get on that piston/sleeve set?

not much force at all. i would say about 5 gallons.....the front bearing went out of the motor it was all grity so that may have been the cause of this.

If the piston pushes past where it normally runs it has lost compression. A $15.00 sleeve pinch is all it needs, no need for a new piston and sleeve. The crank and rod should also be checked for wear because V-specs are notorious for wearing cranks.
Pm me I do pinching and engine rebuilding.

this is pretty interesting...
want to give us a detailed breakdown of use?
car it was run in
fuel brand and % nitro content
how hard it was run
type of use maybe
etc
have seen a couple of vspecs last less than 5 gallons
but it wasn't the piston/sleeve wear
one was a blow rod
and one was a cracked case
pretty interested....let us know
