make sure its high temp RTV..oxygen sensor safe..dosnt break down at all..
seal the carb neck, back plate...as far towards the rear of the plate as possible..also seal up around the "pinch bolts" that hold the carb in...lastley if you feal like it slide the sleeve out and seal up the top edge under the flange of the sleeve with a thin bead and press the sleeve back in..that should DO IT!! as long as the carb seems fine..you can pull the needles out and lube the O-rings on the needles with some light oil
But i still have a fealing some of the issues is with in the tune
hows the STRR elacamino??

He is only open every other weekend for racing, his number is posted on the door if you need parts. His stock is limited though and most of the time is faster buying from Amain!! I get my stuff from Amain in 2-3 days using USPS first class mail, 2 days using Priority. Competition Rc has parts also, I race there every now and then.

Thanks for all the advice folks. After sealing the entire engine it's starting much better, and will hold a normal idle. Also, one of the guys at a LHS here recommended different starting needle settings. He evidentally had alot experience with this particular engine in the past, and had us set the high speed needle MUCH more rich than the OFNA spec sheet said. The combination made a BIG difference. Now I just hope we can get it tuned properly after break in.
