Well, the nova rods are lighter and smoother (higher RPM). I can't say anything about the sleeve, but the Nova's Pistons are definitely lighter than those from Go/Caster.

They (Go) weigh so much more compared to the Nova's. Hope this helps, and that you saved some $$

My EBM5 buggy engine (Go 5 port with tweaks) has right around 6 gallons on it and its holding up like a 2 gallon old P5, it took almost 3 gallons before the metal pinch went away and my rod has zero slop. Thats a long time to beat on the rod pin and if it was going to loosen up it would have been by now.

My Truggy motor is fairly new and has about a gallon through it so far and its been identical to the buggy motor.... still cant turn it by hand hot or cold and the rod is still perfect.

I ran Nova's back when mugen brought them in and had alot of bearing issues, not to mention noticable rod slop after less than a gallon, same with the Vspec I've run. Overall I think the GO motors are a pretty good value for the buck. Everyone I've seen to here locally that has ran them longer than me are still running them, that must mean something.

I can vouche for what he's saying. My dads Go 21 3PT has 8 gallons on the original rod and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, runs flawless. My uncle has a Go .25 6Port and has 7 gallons on the original rod and it's still kicking. My first Go 5PT rod lasted 5 gallons and then the rod bushing went out and pretty much destroyed the engine, I contacted Russell from Racefactor and it turned out to be a bad batch since it happened to other people as well, but then he sent me a brand new Go 5PT at no extra cost and I didn't even had to send the old engine, I just showed him pictures, and now in that engine I have around 4 gallons and it's running flawlessly, nothing wrong with the rod either. Go bearings are awesome as well, my dads, uncle and mine have the original bearings.

I would go onto the go engines thread and ask there. Probably get a better answer. I believe some of the guys from race factor post on there.
