Safe to Add Food Coloring to the Fuel?
Since the Losi Nitrotane is clear I was wondering if it's safe to add a little food coloring so the level can be seen while the body shell is on the vehicle. It's impossible during the daylight to see how much fuel is left without using a flashlight and then moving the vehicle around.

i was wandering the same thing, i normally use odonnel, and it sucks to not be able to see the level in the tank.
i dont see how a couple drops of food coloring could hurt, but id like to know before running it through exspensive motors.

1. Hobbytown USA whines and cries if someone else tries to sell Byrons fuel. So we said F#@* Hobbytown USA.
2.That plus it's 60 miles one way to get there. So my LHS will order whatever you want run, except friggin Byrons, and won't tell you "That's all we have, sorry." Business practices like that drive hardcore racers like me away. So my annual $5-6K will definately never wander towards H-town USA.
3.One of our local pros has been using Poontane for quite a while now and it works fine.
K. Enough whining from me.

No problem with food coloring....
4 drops per gallon works great. We have been doing this for years with no problems. Asked a couple of the fuel makers and they have confirmed this is no problem at all.
I use green. Very different and can easilyt be seen through the tank to confirm the level.

http://www.shopatron.com/product/par...er=8074S/137.0 is what you need. Every smell has its own color and will color your fuel and give a nice smell instead of the normal smell. Stay away from food colors etc, they are ruining your engine in the end!

I have added a couple drops of food coloring to a gallon of fuel on many occasions and had no issues.
