Default EZ Start

I have a traxxas t maxx 3.3 and I am having problems with my EZ start. I just replaced the easy start motor and the wire harness and I am still having problems. The battery in the started itself is fully charged (starts my roommates tmaxx no problem) but the second I push the starter button the motor turns over and then slowly comes to a stop with the battery not even being able to turn the motor over anymore. Like mentioned its not the battery since i could take it over to my roomies truck and start his jsut fine. I have no idea what the problem could be...... Please help

Try to spin the flywheel by hand or with a screw driver if its really hard or you cant do it there may be something broken in the engine.
If your truck is brand new have you broken it in yet ?

The spur gear and fly wheel spin nicely. I have had the truck for a few months now and running it. This is just a recent problem.

Well what it sounds like is the motor is straining and the overload on the ez start is kicking in or the batt isnt powerfull enough what mah is it ?

I would remove the ez start from the engine, try turning the engine with the One way bearing on the shaft you might need to grip it with some pliars.
If everythings ok there i would check that the ez start gear train is ok and theirs no binding there.

If you have another ez start wand i would test it to make sure that's not the problem i had one that would refuse to light the glow plug even tho it said it was working the wands are cheaply made and tend to get screwed up

inside the gearbox, the second gear from the top, the second one from the engine, is very stiff. I put zero friction lubrication and it helped a little but it is still very stiff. Any suggestions?

It's probably on a bearing, which could be shot.

He said second, so either B or C, probably B (second from "top").

Flooded.....I wish that was just the problem

The gear that seems to be stiff is gear C.

ya he said spur gear. that does not attack to the flywheel it the clutch. the flyfheel [the silver round thingy] see if that turns. if it is the ez-start go with pullstart. thats what i did. that way when u and ur friend go bashing and his magic wand battery dies. you can still run.

That's the one with the half plastic pin built into the ez start case make sure that its not worn or deformed in some way other also if you look closely that half pin has a recess in the other half of the ez start case make sure theirs nothing gunked up and blocking that.

when you put it back together slap a good bit of white grease all over the gears except for the OWB and make sure you dont over tighten the screw thats in the center of the ez start case half's
