As I'm sure you guys have noticed, there is no waiting list currently. All racers who were previously on the list have been moved up to the confirmed list.

With that, please know, with 385 entries and two days of racing and one day of mains, there are only so many hours in a day. This means, we will more than likely have no more than 6 minute qualifiers, 10 minute lower than QuarterFinal mains, 20 min, 30 min and 45 min Quarter, Semi and Finals.

Also, regretfully, this also means stacked full heats with 14 to 15 cars on the track.

Next year a few things will change in this process.... live and learn and realize sold out Nationals are now a thing of the present and future.

I was told almost any tire that lasts will work. They said bring plenty of HARD compound tires for the mains.

Default HEADS UP IN ILLINOIS

Illinois will begin using photo radar in freeway work zones in July.
One mile per hour over the speed limit and the machine will get you a
nice $375.00 ticket in the mail. Beginning July 1st, the State of
Illinois will begin using the speed cameras in areas designated as "Work
Zones" on major freeways. Anyone caught by these devices will be mailed
a $375.00 ticket for the FIRST offense. The SECOND offense will cost
$1000.00 and comes with a 90-Day suspension. Drivers will also receive
demerit points against their license, which allow insurance companies to
raise Insurance rates.

This is the harshest penalty structure ever set for a governmental unit
involving PHOTO speed enforcement. The State already has two camera
vans on line issuing tickets 24/7 in work zones with speed limits
lowered to 45 MPH. Photos of both the Driver's face and License plate
are taken. Pass this on to everyone you know who might be affected!!!

Danny, thanks for the warning, that would blow the budget in a hurry. And I bet there will be plenty of work zones this time of year,

Thanks for the info, Danny. Time to put a towel over my license plates and put on a ski mask when I enter the state!

How close are we to seeing the heat listings?

It looks like the heats are only 5 minutes and no time in between the heats to get cars to finish last laps and to get them off the track, and to get the new heat on the track preped for the start. At our local track, we run warm up laps on the track prior to the race for a few minutes to get the engines up to temp. Also, our qualifiers usually run around 7-8 minutes so when you factor the time to get everyone on the track, warm up, staged, race, finish the race, and then get the cars off the track and marshalls changed out it usually takes an additional combined 10 minutes or so to each main. So for our track, if the qualifier is 8 minutes we usually see the that the total time for everything runs around 15-20 minutes.
I wish I could go and race with you guys, but just looking at it looks like you guys will be so busy that you will need to alot some time in there to get guys organized. Good luck with the race and thanks for all your hard work.

Welcome to Illinois... The Land of Pissed off Cops and corrupt Politicians! The vans are easy to see if you're looking for them and tend to spend most of their time in the greater Chicagoland area (as far as I can tell). Big white vans with lights on top that go off like a flash when they get someone... makes it pretty easy to see from a distance. As for the other part, their continued use of the term "freeways" leads me to believe that it is geared more towards more rural areas because everything in and around Chicago is a Tollway. This could be more troublesome for you all that are coming in from out of the area and are driving.

Dust off those radar detectors folks and say, "Suck it Smokey!!!"

Yep. Its a busy one.... no room to deviate at all with 380 entries.

Hopefully, since this is a national event and we have expeirenced racers attending, the immediate appearance of corner marshalls will occur. We will have no time to remind folks but lots of time to enforce the penalties. This one isn't one to push your luck....

5.5.1.1 Drivers must marshal for their designated race and be in position by the 1 minute call to race.

Page 17, 2009 ROAR Rule book

5.14.11 Failure to be present in designated turn marshal position 1 min prior to start of race: A one-lap penalty from best qualifier or the main.

the problem is with your schedule, that there is no warm up time or time between races...

you cant schedule 5 min of time for a 5 min race.....t is prolly 7-8 at the minimum.

actual race time could be 5-6 min. and then you have to shut your car down, place it in tech, and go out to marshall, ant put 10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag...

unless i am missing something,if so sorry for the input
