RC8 fuel tank issue

RC8 fuel tank issue
My RC8 seems to have the known fuel tank issue. If I rev the engine while the buggy is level it's fine, but if it's tilted vertically in either direction, then I get sputtering from air in the fuel lines. I changed the gray tank to a new white one and I get the same thing. I changed the lines and I get the same results. Does this still sound like a tank issue? Does the new tank that I bought still have the issue? I can't see any cracks in either tank. I blow into it and I can't feel or see any leaks.
should I just buy another RC8 tank or are there other good compatible tanks out there?

If this is happening when the vehicle is tilted with the nose down its because the fuel is rolling away from the pickup in the tank and cant suck the fuel out, this is common in all rc cars. Some models with a clunk tank the pickup will float around and still get fuel but on a fixed fuel tank it cannot.

what you are getting is normal. The pick up is in the back, so if tilted forward it will start sucking air.
This will not effect driving the car on the track, however if you are upside down waiting on a marshall or practicing, don't death rev the car too much because it will suck all the fuel in the line out, thn when flipped over and you punch it, it will starve and flame out.

When I ran rc8 I fixed this problem by installing a mugen mbx5r tank.No more odd tuning problems & if something did happen I was sure it was a tuning change not a tank problem. Most of the people with tank issues were internal leaks in the pickup tubes not external & you'll never find the problem by blowing in the tank with it submerged if that truly is your problem, but I thought they eventually fixed that problem, at least in the truggy tank.

The newest tank I haven't had any problems. Only the smoke colored tank had the major problem for me. The 1st white tank gen2 cracked at the top of the fuel outlet. CA glue fixed that problem
