well funny you should ask

was hard as hell to get it started the first time

wore the wheel down on my box....then killed the motor in my friends starter box (lipo) then rigged my starter box to move the wheel up to make contact and finnaly got it started. Now I have a bad glow ignitor I gotta get replaced too (gonna take my kit up to the lhs tommarow and get it all worked out)

after we got it started the first time though and heated the engine the starter box turned it over just fine.

oh and the engine I'm breaking in is the stock one >_>

hi there, i am looking to buy the losi 8ight 2.0 RTR buggy due to the competitive pricing and inclusive of all the extras. Is this buggy exactly the same as the roller 8ight buggy apart from all the blue anodised parts?

If not what are the differences? which is recommended?

Thanks
Colin

you can replace the stock diff in the RTR with the smart diffs though right?

all the parts can be replaced with the standard 8ight 2.0 kit though eg the aluminium shock caps etc?

you dont have to use the RTR blue anodized parts as replacements etc?

Thanks
Colin

cant see why you wouldn't be able to use any 2.0 parts on them

2.0 roller doesn't come with a smart diff,

the rtr doesn't have the tuned flex chassis, nitride hingepins, 4 shoe clutch and a couple other things.

+1 on the smart diffs. They are extra no matter which version you buy. And yes all the roller 2.0 parts will interchange with the rtr.

i was about to order one of these for a customer, but horizon is sold out already, i expected them to sell out fast. All the 2.0 race roller parts will swap out onto the rtr. main differences is the aluminum is not 7075, chassis is not milled out or flex tuned, the towers are stamped aluminum, not milled. same shocks but with composite caps, and i think the shock shafts are not coated. It does come with silicone oil in diffs rather than grease, good for RTR, and the center smart diff would be nice addition. comes with 4 shoe clutch but with only 2 shoes, to help with traction for newbies, but add some better shoes and springs.

you guys breaking these in for first time, take a heat gun or hair drier and heat up the head of the motor real good before trying to start, will make it way way easier, less stress on starter box, and less wear on pistons, sleeve, and rod bushing.

X2....

the 1.0 rtr was just as competitive as the 1.0 pro roller tho, so i dont see why the 2.0 rtr wouldnt be even more competitive
just my .02
