Default Which Race Buggy?

Hey guys

I want to start racing buggy and was wondering which chassis and motor you guys would go for? Well I have narrowed down my buggy search too the -

-Associated Factory Team 1/8 RC8 KIT
-Hobao 1/8 Hyper 9 Pro Buggy Kit
-Team Losi 8ight 1/8 4WD Competition Buggy Kit
-Team Losi 1/8 8IGHT 2.0 Buggy Race Roller

Narrowed down my motor search too -

-Novarossi Plus 21-5T Off-Road 5 port Competition Buggy Engine
-Novarossi Plus 21-7BT Off-Road 7 port Competition Buggy Engine
-O.S. Max-21 VZ-B V-Spec
-O.S. Speed Tuned .21 VZ-B V-Spec
-RB Concept WS7III Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine

So far I am leaning towards the Hyper 9 with the RB WS7III

Let me know what you guys would choose for pure racing.

Thankyou.

SEARCH TAB!!!

They are all good options. Do some research and decide for yourself. Most people will just tell you to get what they drive, because they like what they drive. That however means nothing for you. I myself run losi and love them, so I will reccomend the 2.0 buggy to you. But like I said that is MY opinion. Search the different vehicles and engines and you will get much better results.

I woluld either recommend the

RC8 + O.S. Speed
OR
Or the Hyper 9 + O.S. Speed- I have seen a certain someone.. having Overheating issues, due to angle of Engine.. -PM

But, tbh I think any of the above are a good choice. Another thing to think about is your driving style too.. as most of those buggies like to be driven in certain ways.. A example.. the Hot bodies D8 meant to like to be driven, more like a Onroad car.. and the 8ight 1.0 Atleast was a very nimble car.. and like to be thrown around a bit.. so that is another thing to think about..

You have PM

Don't rule out Hot Bodies D8........just a hair over $300 = more money for everything else and is very easy to drive.

How is your driving style? From there you can decide what fits you best.

From your selections... OS Speed and Losi 2.0

From my selection... Max Power C5Q in an Xray XB808 (pure race buggy,.. and the lightest buggy on the market!).

Well go to your local track and watch the cars and how they are driven.I drive a losi 2.0 buggy and love it, but it fits my driving style. I drive it like a road car and don't throw it around corners.as for the motor, I use the dynamite .21. Good motor for the price and can hang with the best of them. The run time could be better, but if you have the extra cash get the ninja 5port or the speed.

Hyper 9 on your list but my recommendation is a D8 with either a GO TEch 3, 5, or 7, port race massaged by Powerhouse or a EBM5.

Can't speak on the motors, but definitely would recommend the xray 808. Easy to drive but more importantly the car is indestructible. You want a car that isn't susceptible to breaking a lot if you make a mistake.

You ruled out a couple great products.

Odonnel Z01B or Mugen MBX6
And
Novarossi Plus 4

If I was to buy all new, Im pretty sure id do a Z01B FT and Plus 4. But I already have a plus 4.

But out of your picks, id say get the AE Or Losi With the Plus 21-5. Just depends on your driving.
