The old lightning truggies are very outdated. Might be OK for bashing, but not really for racing.

o yea i race electric for about 4 years and getting a truggy but looking for a good one for a good price

B.A. Racer 04-15-2009 03:16 PM

wat exactly makes a truggy outdated though?

KThatcher 04-15-2009 03:30 PM

The same thing that makes the AE b3 outdated.. just cant compete with todays technology..

But for 200..and if your not a serious racer.. who cares have fun

It is heavy, doesn't steer very well, doesn't accellerate like the newer truggies do. The lightning was one of the first truggies ever made. Technology has come a long way since then.

o i didnt know it was that old and like i said im a racer...but could i still compete even if its not like the new rc8t...all th people are running losi

re

newer older doesnt matter if you are a decent driver you can win the hotbodies truggy wasnt that bad just had to gear it for the track you were running is all,and it was low maintenance unlike some of the newer ones

I guess you could compete, but it will be alot harder to drive fast than one of the newer truggies. The lightning is a tank.

B.A. Racer 04-15-2009 04:02 PM

ok and how fast do u guys think it caps off...and it comes rtr with bump box

toofless 04-15-2009 04:06 PM

re

how fast depends on motor gearing etc if its box stock with the .26 30 feet its topped out need a bigger clutch bell, and as far as tanks go some of us can drive a tank as fast as some can drive an ultralight

funny you say that i have to disagree, my buddy i race with and share cars and tools with has a b3 and he still takes first no prob when he races,

unless your racing on a very serious pro style the need for the brand new tech isnt always a need at your local track if your a good driver and have a decent set-up(old or new) you can hang with anyone and take most,

i know this from experience.

yes you could just get your set-up right and so you have the speed to stay with the rest and to your liking and it will come down to your driving.

B.A. Racer 04-15-2009 04:13 PM

ok and wats the top speeds on these things?
