What is the best Flywheel for O.S. V-Spec

What is the best Flywheel for O.S. 21VZ-B V-Spec II World Edition ?
and what is the best Clutch for that?

What's wrong with the flywheel that came with your kit?
I have never heard of a preferred flywheel for specific engines. I know people change em for tuning applications and for different clutch set-ups, but never heard of one that works better with a V-spec. Usually the flywheel in the Kit works best with your kit, you may need a different collet for the shaft, but the stock flywheel should work just fine

My personal preference, because it works good, is relatively inexpensive, and lasts a long time:
Mugen or Xray flywheel (Xray is less expensive)
Mugen clutch nut
Dynamite Max Life shoes
Kyosho or Xray springs (used to use Mugen but there was a bad batch out there, they were breaking... not sure if that problem still exists and don't want to find out for myself! 2 times was enough...)
Racers Edge vented clutchbell
Mugen or Xray flywheel (Xray is less expensive)
Mugen clutch nut

Aluminum by far..check out Answer RC's shoes They are the best bite lowest wear shoes I have ever used and I will use nothing else. Start out with 2 black and 1 gold spring...
You don't need clutch shims, and the shoes come with 9 springs..just put em on logo side up, and get a good clutch tool...Sporkworks, makes a good one, that's not expensive

for buggy i would Not run an All alum clutch....they are imo too grabby....i would at least throw in 1 carbon into the mix to help make it a smoother transition....especially for loose surface racing which most of us do except for the few that have access to Uber hard pack sticky blue groove......but then again it all depends on the driver and the feel he's after.....as per which brand of clutch....I run the Stock Losi and the Steel version...and on Truggy i run the M2C set-up....couldn't ask for much more.

Be careful using another chassis manufacturers flywheels on your kit. what kit are you running your V spec in?

+1 on the AnswerRC shoes. Switched to them and now I won't use anything else. JAZ, your spring choice is very interesting. May I ask why 2 black and 1 gold as opposed to 3 silvers? It's for my truggy if that makes any difference.

gets the buggy Moving at lower RPM's with no wheel spin, and then when I punch it it has all the grab I could ever need. Love this combo, try it out see what you think, you can always change back if needed. I got almost 3 gallons on my last set of Answer Shoes..They are DA bomb! no doubt

Thanks JAZ, I'll give it a try this weekend and see how it works. The track I'll be racing on gets a very dusty/loose amound of dirt on top, so it might just be the cat's meow if it reduces wheel spin!!

Very interesting setup Jaz. I'll have to try this out, question, the shoe w/ the gold spring-will this shoe wear out alittle faster than the ones with the black springs?
