Default Low end engine

Alright, so after my engine dies in my Matrix i want a .21 engine so i can race in the "pro" series at my track in stead of (because of engine size .28, dumb huh?) the "unlimited class".

So the track i run at has a 150 foot straight but usually (the track changes every year) its full of tight twists and turns and short jumps. so i need a low end engine. and i have a question, do more ports mean higher top speed and lower ports mean higher low end?

I was thinking the GO .21 3 port. If my theory is correct, The 3 port is low end, the 5 is md range, and the 7 is the high end. Right?

Thanks

Yup pretty much right. With the 3 port I would reccomed a dynamite 086, which is a high end pipe.

The 5 port Go has the most bottom end power, great motor for the money. In general the more ports the more top end power but not always the case.

You might also want to consider the RB S3, I know i prefer it over the Go Tech.

Novarossi NR21bf Limited. It's $150, has Novarossi quality (plus their good composite carb) and has all the power you need.

There's no hard and fast rule to port number vs. power type. It has become that way because engine makers need to hang a feature on their higher end engines so that they'll sell for more money.

The OS V-Spec is one of the most powerful engines anywhere, in all ranges of the power band. V-Spec=3port. Novarossi is calling their new generation engine a 4-port, I believe they are counting the exhaust port too. This engine was raced at worlds on a HUGE track.

Go 5PT with the Go 0801 pipe or the Dynamite 086, amazing low end power. The Go 3PT has good low end punch but not as much as the 5PT.

Ok... I see now. In my earlier post I misunderstood the question. If you are looking for engine suggestions, in that price range I would definately look at the nova limited edition. Run that with an 086, and you got yourself a killer $200 combo.

+1 there definately are exceptions to the rule. The v-spec being probably the bigest example of that. Some people call the v-spec a 4 port too. Although it is really a 3 port. Not sure why anyone would count the exhaust as a port. That way of counting just confuses everything.

that's what I thought so too, the 4th port is the EXHAUST port. GOOD too good, easiest to break in, and easiest to tune, idles whole day.But if you have 200$ budget you can go for the N21 NOVA awesome power.

if you after crazy power the Jammin JPX .21 should definitely be considered.... IMO it has the strongest powerband of all the current .21's.... For $229.00 it has amazing bang for the buck.....

To my understanding the Plus 4 is a true 4 port, 2 main ports 2 transfers and 1 exhaust, 5 total.

I found it to be very much non-controllable(im new racer as well) the thing is a lightswitch...on/off, the powerband is very abrupt....can get you in trouble quick.....some drivers may like it for their style, I however hated it, I like smooooth...that's why I choose Novarossi plus4
