im new to an extent to gas and im just now picking up a new engine since my rtr's stock .28 seems to be going out and from what ive been looking around at the OFNA Picco .21B 3-Port looks decent and the Novarossi N21B 2000 BF Limited Edition .21 Off Road 3 Port looks beter and the Go Technology .21 3 Port Race Engine (Turbo) looks realy nice,

now the ofna is dirt cheap out the door for like 110 easy at amainhobbies,
the nova is about 150 at amain as well,
the go seems to be looking realy nice for around 180 also at amain,

now im more then likly gonna be piccing up the ofna and breaking it in and seeing how it does either way but im also gonna be getting either the go or the nova and that way if the ofna shits out on me i will still have a quality engine still in the box,

but as far as prices all 3 of those engine are more then a bang for the buck and all seem to have good to great low end.

If you are going to spend the money to buy two cheapo engines, IMO you would be better off with one better engine. For $250-300, you can get a much nicer engine. For instance if you like the looks of the go 3 port, maybe consider just getting a go 5 port. I don't know. It's up to you, but I would lean towards one more expensive engine, more than 2 cheaper engines. That is unless you have 2 cars thgat need engines.

There is the list of engines, and the 3 higher end engines from the brands you were looking at.

I would also really consider an OS engine

I am very used to running the Picco's now, unfortunately when I try to run other engines they just end up feeling dead... My trigger finger has adapted to the Picco's, so i find it hard to switch back to anything else...

Number of ports does not have anything to do with low or high end power.

Timing *)of ports does, and tuning of exhaust system does.

*) a.k.a. when ports open and close during the 360 degree rotation of camshaft

in general i have found the go motors are good, but i like to put a high end carb on them. such as a grp or os

I was thinking the GO .21 3 port. If my theory is correct, The 3 port is low end, the 5 is md range, and the 7 is the high end. Right?

Thanks
have you thought about a picco they have alot of low end power

I would just pick up a nova 3 port limited. They are good motors that will scream on small tracks. It you have more money to spend then look at something like an extech w/ the low end pipe.

If you have a budget of 200dollars go to massivemods and buy yourself a Go 5P engine. I assume it is for a truggy then the 5P is a good choice.

I wouldn't bother with that GO 3PT turbo...tried it and still crying for my money spend!!
Not enough bottom end and a pain to tune because of this...it needed a fine tuned clutch to work.Not to mention that carb.

Novarossi N21B or RB S3 L2G would be your best choices!

Here are two reviews of Novarossi engines, both are excellent engines.

Novarossi N21B-2001BF -> http://www.myrcbox.com/?p=613

Novarossi Plus 21-4 -> http://www.myrcbox.com/?p=835

IMO the second one is worth the extra $$. The normal v-spec is a great engine, but I feel the ninja is a step better, even if just for longevety reasons. I have really come to love OS engines recently. They tune so easily, make great power, and get great fuel milage. And if treated correctly they can last as long as any other engine. I really don't buy the longevety complaints. Any engine will blow up if you beat it up.
