Default dust boots

I have a Traxxas Slayer.....basically a Revo, and it seems like every time I run the truck, the dust boots for the ballstuds are torn. Does anybody every just take them off and not use them?

It wont hurt to run without them, you will just need to do more maintenance....EI. clean more because the dirt gets in now
