Please Help!

I am debating on 2 cars.
CEN 1/8 Matrix R2 Buggy

CEN 1/8 Matrix TR Arena Truggy

Or if anyone has other recommendations please post up.
This will be my first car but i am serious about this hobby. Im wanting to enter in races at my local raceway. Also if you make other recommendations please provide links to where i can see the car.
Thanks

Neither.

You are much better off buying quality gear to begin with. You will dump alot of money into those cars to make them competitive and durable. I would stick to some of the more major brands. I reccomend losi. If you are looking for an RTR, losi just released what will be the best RTR buggy ever. The losi 8ight 2.0 RTR. If you are looking for a kit I reccomend either of the losi 2.0 vehicles.

Like I am sayin, if you don't spend at first you will spend ALOT more in the end. For what it is the 8ight 2.0 RTR is very affordable. It comes with a killer radio, a starter box, and a .21 engine so it is actually legal for racing. Not to mention the platform it is based on.

With the nearly unmatched customer service with losi/horizon(imo) you can not go wrong by going the losi route. yes you will spend a bit more than your current choices but you also get more and most likely will have much better parts support online. With the discounts above some of my local guys have gotten the 8 2.0 buggy for a great price!

I would also wait till next week before getting anything Losi from carolinas as I heard they will have a awesome sale going to take place on losi products;)

If you need any help should ya get a losi you can email me direct at [email protected] or ask on the losi specific forums;)

what kind of money are you talkin for your first car? So many people try for cheap first but within a couple months you will have spent more. Lets see how well we can spread your available money on something you will be happy with.

ABURTON 04-12-2009 05:17 PM

Shoot me a email @ [email protected], I think you can get into the losi 2.0 rtr(would be a awesome first car) for under $700.

I'll talk to ya later;)

Do you already have radio, engine, and the other items you will need to complete a kit?

Just make sure when considering you add up how much your kit becomes when you add those things in;)

Yep I also have to agree with them....the new 2.0 RTR is an awesome deal and will keep you competitive for a long time. Not to mention the 2.0-T RTR will be released soon. As far a RTR's go (and their whole range...as far as I am concerned) losi can't be beat.

i went a little cheaper and ordered the Hot Bodies D8T. its $400 for the kit as opposed to $700 for the Losi Kit. Or if you are lookin for a RTR, might i suggest the Jammin X2. complete is like $600

How has your HB been for you? I got the losi because I felt for $70 more I was getting a little more in the buggy/company.

I was told I could get the losi rtr for about 640 through carolinas and if I am not mistaken it has everything you need. What does the jammin car come with?

Looks like for $649(once in my cart) I get a rtr, nice radio, nimh rx pack, starter box, and painted body.

All I need is two batteries for the box...

Actually just b. ordered one and got it shipped with the 5% discount code for $627. I think that is a good deal.

salabarria 04-12-2009 06:38 PM

get a losi monster truck like the after shock or the xxl which is 660...all of losi's trucks are of good quality and perfect for a beginner

He wants to race this vehicle. A monster truck is NOT what ya want for racing. The losi buggy or truggy in roller or RTR versions would be the best bet. IMO the 2.0 buggy RTR is a killer deal. You also get a $10 gift card from carolinas if you preorder it.
