Default New to Nitro

Hey Guys! I have been into electric for a bit now and want to get into Nitro. What would be a good starter truck or buggy (RTR)? Also, what are some other essentials I would need and a final cost $$$?

The new Losi 2.0 buggy RTR will raise the bar for all RTR vehicles to either follow, or fail!! Starter box, awesome radio, great engine..You couldn't ask for a better or more complete package

Starting off with a RTR buggy is good to help keep cost down, but over time as you get use to driving and get better you will maybe want to start upgrading thing's. here a few thing i would look at getting with a new car, and gear you may want to have with you.

Ofna 650cc fuel bottle
Hot shot glow igniter
spare plugs
plug wrench
good tool set
reciever pack, dont use double A's
Byron's 30% fuel
Something to keep your gear and tool's in order, Pit bag or even a tackle box from wall mart.
find out what tires are working on your track from the fast guy's and grab a set of them
grab some front and rear arm's front and rear hubs
locktite.

there is alot more u can aquire, but these are just some of the good things to have.

Aren't they going for something like 700? The radio and bump box alone are worth 300 bucks. I am really thinking about getting into buggies!

Yes they are not cheep, but all you need to do is eventually buy a stronger stearing servo..Nothing crazy $50, move the RTR stearing servo to the throttle, and you are done..no other upgrades needed, until you WANT them, not because you need them..Best $700 you will ever spend, if you want to seriously get started with no aggravation and additional costs

+1 on the losi rtr. best bang for the buck out there. those cheap rtr's will break on you all the time, and most of the time it is very difficult to find parts at your LHS for those off the wall brands. almost everyone everywhere carry losi parts. and like mentioned above, it comes with everything you need. a bad a$$ radio, starter box, .21 motor, everything to hit the track but fuel. would not even look in a different direction

This RTR will set the standard. The only thing is, I think it will be so hard to get for awhile. Not only will so many people be buying them for theirselves, but so many more will be buying them to part out. The ebay chop shops are going to be having a field day with this one and it will make it that much harder to get. I would think that Losi has planned for the expected demand on this product because they know they have a good price point and will have to sell alot of volume to make the money.

I just bought a 2.0 race roller a few months ago, but I am hoping they release an 8t 2.0 rtr. I dont have a truggy yet and am holding out for this one.

yeah man get the losi 2.0 rtr. i bought th losi 8ight 1.0 rtr for my first rc. i never ,oked back. sme people might say that a losi's too much for a beginne. i whole heartly dis agree. wheather you buy thetop of the line or the bottom of the line .your going to learn to drive whatever you buy so go w. quality right off the back.... ans robzzz im praying for the 8ight-t 2.0rtr. ijust picked up a hyper st and ive always wanted one. but even though i already havbe a trggy now. the 8ight-t 2.0 rtr will be to die for. i guess i could use the excuse that th hyper st is a stadium truck not a truggy,he.he ,he

I'm an AE guy and I gotta say, can't beat the Losi RTR. Nothing even comes close. Make sure you get either Amain's or Carolina's coupon code before you order it to save a little coin.

And another thing about owning a Losi, I don't think I've ever been in a LHS that didn't carry Losi parts.
