I'm a lucky man, but I knew that before reading this thread. My fiance encourages me to go to the track. She likes that I get excited about racing. I work a lot (stress), so she understands.

I want to get her involved, perhaps in the Slash class.

Her: "$199 is kind of expensive for a car [Slash] if I'm no good at that."
Me: "Cost is not an issue. I've had engines that cost twice that."
Her:
Me: ...

I decided to leave it at that for now . I'm still going to try to get her involved.

On the other side of things... I don't drink, she knows I'm out doing something relatively healthy, and I love her very much. She is my dream girl.

I love both my wife and RC...just be smart to adjust your time between your 1/10 and 1/1....remember, if you couldn't fulfill both needs...then don't play RC, except if your wife is extremely PITA...the RC is a good excuse to leave her

Sounds to me like you need to man up, grow up and take a real good look at yourself. Ever seen the movie Fireproof? If not then go rent it, there is a good message in it. Not trying to be Dr. Phil, just got irratated by such a immature post

Many great points here.

My story is simple. My ex never appreciated how much I spent on her. A while after we broke up, she stated that I liked being single so I could spend my money on myself.

Now I've met a girl who loves to street race her honda, and expresses interest in my hobby. (I was explaining motor turns to her the other night) She also has two young boys that I'm sure would love to bash some models as well.

I'm crossing my fingers on this one. May have finally gotten lucky in that department.

We all know that most women are very insecure and co-dependent and will never be happy with anything we as men do. The bottom line here is if you want to keep a happy marriage or relationship with one you will most likely have to give a little and take a little when you can. Me personally, I would rather be alone and enjoy my life with my son than to be nagged as much as I was when I was married. We have one chance at this life thing so enjoy it, it may be gone today, tomorrow or anyday. I am a Paramedic (17 years) so I see how fragile life can be. Race if you want to race, kiss a women's butt if you want to, but dont let anyone tell you how to live if it makes you unhappy. Happiness is the key !!!

Thank you Lords..... my girlfriend doesn't care if I race on Sunday or I spent some nights fixing RC cars.

( I guess the maximum limit is 3 races per month ).

I like racing so I picked one class and race 2x per week and try to run budget equipment. This helps keep my wife off my butt This hobby is very expensive and some people just cant control themselfs. If you dont have the money or money is tight you have to adjust accordingly, some chicks are just nasty and will complain about anything you are into Choose wisely

I'm 36 and live with my mom. She says I'm the best at RC.

Sometimes if I felt guilty after bought an expensive parts ...I also bought a pair of shoes or something that she likes ...I knew this is double the cost...but then it's a good motivator which made me want to make money harder ...if financial situation is not good..then I just buy used stuff

My girl freind airbrushes my bodies and shows them to anyone that comes over to the house. As for the cost of raceing it was a problem so I quit smoken them cigs put, another 180 bucks a month in the race fund. I once came home and found her in the shop with the manuel rebuilding my diffs for a friday night race. I took her out for dinner and a movie for that one.

This is a common issue...

I'm married so there is a fine line between giving the wife enough attention, and running enough to stay competitive. The main issue for me, is that my wife is an excellent shot with the P-22 handgun. She gets it out and cleans it when I haven't been giving her enough attention. LOL!

When they get real crazy.... just tell them look, strip club or RC track, you decide!

I know how to make both of us happy. Sell me the P-22 for 100 bucks, and she doesn't have the gun to get revenge.

Hate me if you want, I'm still laughing...
