jr racing and hi tech servos
I am getting the m11 radio. But i am really streching my cash for now until i can get ahead on my other bills. I have the jr racing2650m hi torque servo for steering (142oz of torque), and the hitec hs-645mg hi torque for throtle .24 sec and 107oz of torque. The jr racing is a little faster (.17 sec) but i need the extra torque for steering.
My question is. Are thease good enough for now??? I won't be racing anytime soon. I can upgrade later, just didn't have the cash to put 120$ for each servo. Are they junk??? should i return them and just wait and pay for the better ones?? I'll hang up and listen. |
i would like to know before i install them
|
alot of people dont like the 645 mg servos but i run them in my 8 b and they work great. i have alum. horns on them and never had a problem.
|
which one should i use for steering???? I was thinking the jr racing one for steering
|
since you already have the jr use that for steering. more power the better up front, even with the 645 i have to adjust the braking down or ill lock up all 4 wheels.

thank you

I have one buggy with a 645 in T/B & it works fine. Its forever old & never gave me a problem. Was an excelent steering servo in the 1/10 scale cars but I dont think it would do too well in buggy steering for very long.I am thought it had more torque than you listed, you didnt read the specs for 4.8v did you?
As for the JR model you have I know nothing,I never used one & dont know anybody that has one. |

Your just going to get pissed when those break down and even more pissed when you have to spend more money to buy new ones. |
My Mugen burned my 645.
Replaced with a futaba 9351 and no problems |
I personally like at least 400oz of torque up front for my steering, and I would use your JR for throttle and keep the Hitec as a back up for the JR, but until you save up you can get buy on those for sure.

Both of those servos are really slow and not very powerfull. I wouldn't use either of them for 1/8th scale.
You don't need to spend $120 on each servo. The ace 1313 and hitec 7985 have 170+ oz of torque and a transit speed of .13. They are fast, strong enouph for buggy, and are digital. They run about $70 to $80. If I were you, I would return the ones you bought and spend a little extra cash and get something better suited for 1/8th scale. |
