Unless I am wrong the OS 30 4 stroke is a airplane engine, and I don't think it will work at all in a buggy even if you could get it mounted up and a clutch and flywheel on it, it wouldn't have enough torque to pull out!

isnt that a plane engine? they dont have the right power to run a car

beginner4life 04-02-2009 03:07 PM

haha i think he meant 2 stroke http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg2075.html

Repled at the same time, lol

i would say deff. clutch problem gearing wont have much to do with the car not doing anything till half throttle.

Even if he's running 1.1 springs and ultra lightweight aluminum shoes it should move at low throttle, unless something is stuck!

it is a 4 stroke and nothing is binding up but I am preety sure it is a clutch spring problem, the springs are 1.1's I believe, and I noticed there is a large amount of air gap between the shoes and the bell what is the gap supposed to be set at?

Does it look like this? this is a OS 30 4 stroke!

Not a lot of RPM to work with if it's the motor above...

You want to get the lightest clutch springs you can find, and the heaviest shoes to drop the engagement RPM. Also go to the largest clutch bell you can find. Even at that your not gonna have much top end.

You really may need to do some custom clutch design to get the engagement to a reasonable rpm for that engine. Gearing is also a problem. If you had it in a truggy I would say to put buggy gears in both differentials. Not many options in a buggy though. Good luck.
