Default My Homemade tire balancer....check it out!!!!

I have less then $10.00 in this homemade tire balancer. iIt has the following:

1. I used a Ford fuel line tool, (any mechanic can recognize it) drilled out the rivet, cut one end off and screwed it to the 1x4, then to the 2x4 base.

2. I used an extra hub that I had from a truggy.

3. An exacto knife handle fit perfectly inside the hub, and unbelievably perfect inside the bearings.

4. Then I used new skate board bearings.

In all, this balancer I have created rolls smooth as glass, and all for less then about ten bucks and a few minutes of my time. I know its a little ugly but it works fantastic.

Thanks, JOEHULL

AWESOME! THANKS!

I've never really bothered with these things until recently (getting more serious into club racing)

Cheers ~

Every little thing you do to your car will add up big. Tires are just as important as anything else on your car.

Oh and don't forget to use the NON-Hardning model clay

Good luck, JOEHULL

Hey Jody, looks pretty cool!! I agree, it is a bit ugly!!! How long did it take to find all those parts and pieces? Pretty innovative thinking.

DUDE!

Your a genius!

I've been wanting to make a tire balancer for awhile but I could not figure out what would work best as a perfect fit for the wheel hub. After reading this I headed to the work shop and quickly pulled out my Exacto and a hub.. Perfect fit!

I'm making this on the weekend, since I already have the skateboard bearings, I'll mod the sides a bit to hold the assembly.

Thanks for the Exacto idea! (FYI I have an exacto with a smooth handle and one with a metal grip in the center. The metal grip one works better.)

I've been using one like that for about three year now, works great, I use an old 8th scale hub and nut in the buggy and truggy tires.

I use the Dubro prop balancer I already had for my planes. I use an extra hub and nut and the balancer shaft fits perfect. I CA small strips of solder to balance. The Slash tires do not need any adaptor. Put your car up on something and spin the wheel fast and you be the judge. I can really feel the difference in the high speed sections.
