Four stroking refers to your TWO stroke engine not firing when it should. If your engine is running so rich that it can't even move your car/truck but the engine is still running, it might be four-stroking. This means the engine is firing half as much as it should.
Google two stroke engines and then four stroke engines. I don't feel like typing it all out.

+1 to Air8's reply.
Four-stroking is when the engine's ignition timing is way off due to excessive fuel. Basicly the engine is running on the verge of hydraulic lock.
What does it sound like? Like the engine is running under water.
