Default Is there anyway to get the paint off a rtr 8 body?

I just wandered if the paint they use is water soluble like faskolor? Or is there anyway to get it off?

Lacquer thinner might work on it. It works on bodies I've painted myself.

I just painted a new jconcept Illuzion before last weekend, i put a THS pipe I had laying around on my mack 427 for saturday, well come to find out it wasn't a good match, the motor was running real fat at 270 degrees i mean super fat boggin and blue smoke the whole way through throttle, and the pipe was 315 degrees!!!!!!!!!! yeah wow, well it melted a hole in my brand new body....

I dont believe your going to be able to get the paint off because it's not paint. The plastic on the RTR bodies is like a screen printed design on the body then vacu formed to shape

I believe that the graphics on the losi bodies are screen printed onto the lexan. Ive tried taking paint off of other screen printed RTR bodies, and nothing really worked without damaging the surface.

1 thing you can do in the future is to go to a hardware store and get some chrome/reflective heat tape and pit it on the body...this will prevent melting from happening(under normal circumstances anyways).

On my X1-CRT i also put it on the fuel tank to help keep the fuel temps down, and to prevent my pipe from melting the tank.

Just so you know..anything that actually removes the paint from lexan...Looks so bad once its done, you will throw out the lid anyway...it dont look anything like you want it to..just deal with what you got, or buy a new one..It has a really bad fogging effect to the plastic and makes the new paint job look like Chit

Cool looks like I'll just buy me a new jconcept. Anyone heard of a pipe getting that hot, and it effecting the tune of a motor like that? The pipe was originally purchased for a savage 25.
