how long can a nitro engine last??
I have a ofna pico .26 for my buggy, is in great condition. My good friend for the most part gave it to me, its about 8 years old. He says it is a old big block that is better then just about all the engines i could get at my local hobby shop right now.
I mean seriously. How long can one of thease last???

If you take proper care of it. Keep engine temps between 210-240, Use after run oil when engine sits for more than a week, Never run it hot or cold other than initial start up. If you can heat prior to starting cool if not no worry's most don't. Take proper care of your clutch keep your gears meshed and engine square + LUCK. An engine can last a long time. I know guys that have 14+ gallons on there engines. However eventually the Piston and sleeve will wear out it's the nature of the beast.

well i have a new clutch, 13t. he says the sleeve has been bored.
14 plus gallons is alot??? how many tanks you get out of a gallon???

So true. So many used engines on ebay with only 1 gal..... Gave that a try a couple of times and both times the engines were so done when they heated up they would not come back on.

power of 3. they say 1 gallon, times it by 3. they say break in, make it a gallon and a half XD

A new sleeve is good huh???
I think i will open it up and take a look at the piston.

I have a RB S7 for a year and 7 month and well over 15+ gallons and still running strong.I always run it a little rich on the low side temp around 240 deg.

i had a losi/dynamite mach 427 that lasted 13.5 gallons.... that was my first nitro motor ever...
