If you take proper care of it. Keep engine temps between 210-240, Use after run oil when engine sits for more than a week, Never run it hot or cold other than initial start up. If you can heat prior to starting cool if not no worry's most don't. Take proper care of your clutch keep your gears meshed and engine square + LUCK. An engine can last a long time. I know guys that have 14+ gallons on there engines. However eventually the Piston and sleeve will wear out it's the nature of the beast.

Most engines, when tuning well will last 5-10 gallons. On a 1/8 buggy, a gallon is about 28 tanks (give or take).

Yup. And don't forget to change the air filter often! Even if it looks pretty clean, eventually something will make it all the way through the foam. Best to keep it new or clean

So true. So many used engines on ebay with only 1 gal..... Gave that a try a couple of times and both times the engines were so done when they heated up they would not come back on.

correction. He says it's a NEW sleeve. Besides, he is letting me use it. It's not like i am trying to buy it. He is a good friend so i doubt he would give me junk.

A new sleeve is good huh???

I think i will open it up and take a look at the piston.
