Default what would give me the most top end speed???

I am not racing right now but would a .28 engine be to much for my mugen???? Are they faster then a .21 (generally) I know there are better .21 and .28 engines, one smaller might go faster then a bigger one and so on.

I want good handling but i want to go really fast. sorry for all the questions, i want to get what i want.

For pure end top speed, you have different choices based on price and needs. I've seen some people just play with their trucks on road and want all out top speed. Others play in fields and other terrain so it's a matter of versatility.

bottom line, speed costs money. Going to a bigger motor, is for the most part a cheaper way to go faster.

Get a 7 port race go tech with a Dynamite 053, and you will hit 50 in a stock buggy on asphalt easy. They can be had for like $200 and if you want get it modded by either Mr. Twister or Powerhouse if your in the US and Massive Mods if in Uk.

The 8ight 2.0 with extremely high gearing and a grp .28 highly modified went 77mph. Something to think about....

Is a .28 faster than a .21? Depends who's hands it's in. Generally speaking, off-road vehicles are spinning bigger and heavier wheels than the road guys, so we tend to lean toward torque over rpm. But if your aim is to go fast, pay a lot of attention to engine/pipe set-up & gearing.

BTW I've seen .16s that can stomp .21s

My advise is to learn your engine intimately and know you've wrung everything out of it before you jump to a bigger engine in the name of more HP.

If you adjust gear ratios, there is a strong possibility that a race 28 will outpower a race 21. When I was running my Novarossi 8 port 28 mill in my LSP, it had outrageous power and torque. More power than I ever had and seen. The motor was flat out crazy and I could still adjust the ratios to gain more top end. I'd enter the straight a couple lengths behind a friend and before we'd start slowing down the the turn at the end, I'd be pass him and pulling on him. He was running a standard vspec at the time. Some 28 mills are economy mills, while others are flat out races mills that can put out some high numbers and speeds. Also, there are some really fast 21's out there too, but those mills usually are very expensive. Much more than the novarossi 28 8 port that I bought.

It's simple. Want to go fast? Bring all the money you can get and start spending. Remember, he who spends the most, WINS!

Yup, I can only imagine what modifiers could do to a race 28 to get more rpm out of them. Speed = BIG$$$$$$$$$.
