Default Which Raytek temp gun?

Before I ask, I'll say that I understand about tuning to smoke/performance and that the Exergen is THE pro choice temp gun and the one to compare other guns with. I don't want to spend that much but want something fairly accurate that won't give me readings that are consistently off by 20-30 degrees. I did a search and read good things about the Raytek mini but which model are you guys referring to? THANKS for any replies!

Raytek MT2

or Raytek MT6

also saw the Mastercool

I'll never understand why the Exergen is so much more than the rest.

I picked up one of those O'donnell TGX1 temp guns and it works just fine. It reads with in like 5 degrees of the Exergen.

I have the MT1. The MT2 looks exactly like it. It measures exactly the same as the EXERGEN.

I hated the O'Donnell temp gun. Killed a battery in a day and died during my warm up before my main.
It oddly hit the floor at a high velocity after said main.

Thanks...I think this one is the MT1?

MT4 -

MT1, MT2 & MT4 all look and cost about the same?!! Kind of confusing...they'll probably all work about the same so maybe I'll flip a coin, haha

I read about the very short battery life of the O'donnel gun so no go on that especially since you have firsthand experience with that issue.

Looks like the MT4 has a laser pointer which is kind of point less since the laser pointer is offset from the actual sensor that takes the temp.
If anything I would get the MT6 because it gives you max and current and whatever
There all good if you get the laser pointer one ignore the laser and make sure that the sensor is centered over the glow plug.

The MT6 qualifies for free shipping so Mt6 it is!

X2 even after a couple warranty claims and new one's being send out no question's asked they all still had issues....1 ate batteries....the next the screen would ONLY come up when the button is being pressed....the 3rd and final one just plain old glitched...the harder you press on the button the screen would flicker On and Off.....after that they send a HPI unit....working flawless to this day.
