I don't get why ppl wanna run lipo not regulated.. Even if you have servos and a RX that will handle it, it'll still dump your rx lipo that much faster...IMO a consistent 6.2V draw is plenty.

i would think the mentality is from having glitch's or problem's with the regulator's....and being able to not Have to use one appeals to a lot of guys who have heard of regulator issues in the past.

I have had 2 regulators fail during an AMAIN. 1 was A ht 7v & 1 losi 6v. Both times it was 100 deg. days.

exactly my point....most guys who want unregulated stuff have had issues with current regulator's....and im sure you wont be trusting another regulator any time soon right ?

So come on Integra... spill the beans.... do you know people that have been running without a regulator?? Have you been running without a regulator???

I love my 4PK and would love it even more if I didn't have to deal with a regulator getting all toasty.

Nope....i personally have not done it....my 3pks on faast is still rock solid after a good season of racing running Losi reg's and losi/protec/ebay packs....i Had issues...with an older black model...but that was fixed with getting the Super.....BUT...buddy who's gear i build and maintain has a Brand new Less then 3hrs on the radio Faast system glitch out hard on truggy and it had a runaway....the buggy also had a couple issues when we were racing indoor's at a horse ranch...he also runs Losi reg's and Losi/ebay packs...and it happen to be Only in ONE spot on the stand .....so He replaced everything and went 4pk with 604's....His stuff ran perfect at the next event....i dont personally know anyone who has ran the 604 on 7.4 But i do know that guys run the 603's without issues.

i personally dont like the 4pk for 2 main reason's....1 the select button is stupid hard to push....they should have left it similar to the older select button......and 2nd is the vibration function.....i personally love the 3pk's on a 3 cell 11.1...but the 4pk on the stock pack is....well....pitiful at best....i know its a lame reason...but w/e....i have full intention's of running 604's on my super when i can get my hands on some.

My set up...
4PK/604/Apogee 2000 LiPo/Castle B.E.C. has been solid for me. I like the CC B.E.C because V output is user selectable. It also can handle 10 Amp surge/7 amp Cont.

Cary, when I first got mine, I was thinking along the same lines. Now, after 3 races ( one of which was a 3 day event), I am confident the stock batt is perfect. I raced two weeks ago before yesterday. Stupid me left the pack plugged in to the Tx all this time. Since this was just a club race, I decided to play devil's advocate and not charge. Tx worked awesome all day, and still has plenty of life. Keep in mind, the last time I did charge was two weeks ago.

Now I can sort of understand if weight is your concern...but bat longevity won't be an issue.

I have one but did not dare to run it yet. My friend just bought one & ran it over the weekend. No problems at all. So, I'm going to get myself a few more receivers & try it out.

BTW, I'm also going to try these batteries :

I Always leave my pack plugged into my remote....Ive never had it loose a volt due to it being plugged in....for some reason a Rx or regulator or starter box is different....i honestly don't get it....but w/e.

You may have a point regarding NiMh. But I used a LiPo in my previous Tx, so I am used to having to unplug em.
