Default Dynamite Mach .28 vs. LRP Z.28R

I'm looking for an inexpensive engine for my D8T(when it comes in) and I was about to pull the trigger on either the GO .21 3 port race or the GO .28 3 port sport and I ran across a couple others that I may be interested in. I did a little searching on this and another forum but I did not get a definative answer. Are the Dynamite Mach .28 and LRP Z.28R the same motor, rebadged? They look very similar other than the colors and the head but the blocks look the same. The reason I ask is because several people have said that the LRP is a pretty decent budget motor for a truggy and the MACH .28 is about $50.00 cheaper. BTW I have a Dynamite hard ano 086 pipe.

Default lrp vs dynamite...

my uncle bought one of the lrp 28's when they first came out. All i could say was WOW! This motor running around 210-220 has the most torque of any engine i have ever seen. As of now he has about 4 gallons or so on his and still has good compression.

I have also seen many people that have the dynamite 28 and also have good results, not as much torque but if well taken care of this motor will be very dependable as well as last a long time. I got about 8 1/2 gallons on mine before new P/S/R

Hope this helps

Thanks, I've heard good things about both motors for the price, I'm just trying to find out if they are "essentially" the same. I can get the MACH for about $125.00 and the LRP and GO .21 are around $180.00.

The dynamite 28 is the same as the lrp spec 2 engine which is the same as the xtm 456 pro.

Dyn. engine is way overpriced.
go with the lrp spec 3 or the xtm 456. Spec 3 has more top end and all around power. 456 is lower rpm and has great torque.

They are all made by the same company.

Alright after alot more searching and lurking around in other threads I have narrowed my choices down to a few engines.

JPX .28 $199.99
Ofna Picco .28T $194.99
LRP .28 Spec 3 $169.99
Go Tech .28 3 port $109.99

For the money would the Jammin or Picco be that much better and are they basically the same engine? I've already ordered a Dynamite 086, is that a good choice for either of those?
