lipo rx pack

Hey guys just had a quick question.

I have a 2cell lipo pack in my rc8 right now and its working just fine. I use a Castle bec to lower the voltage to 6volts. But i have a 3cell lipo and was wondering if i would be able to use that as a rx pack. I could still lower the voltage down to 6volts. Would it last longer then the 2cell cause it has a higher voltage but im not using it all at once.

thanks.

sorry if the way i phrased the question is a little confusing lol.

No it won't last any longer. The amount of run time depends mainly on the Mah. The more mah , the more run time. Just make sure your voltage regulator is set for a 3 cell or a 9 volt cutoff(do not take a 3cell anywhere near 6volts), or else you may discharge the battery too much and it will be shot. I'd stick with a higher mah 2 cell and be done with it, but that's just me. Good luck!

What ^^ said plus the 3 cell will weigh a little more

runtime depends on Watt hours the pack is able to give.

7.4V 2S 2000mah pack = 14.8Wh
11.1V 3S 1300mah pack = 14.43Wh

when used with 6V BEC they will last about the same time as from the 3S pack the BEC will take less curent :)

of course 3S 2000mah pack will last much longer

stick with 2S - 1500mah 7.4V pack will last for ~ 2 hours depending on servos u use. Most 2S higher capcity packs will be lighter than lower capacity 3S pack and also 3S packs will be most of the time bigger and hard to fit.
