D8

Most of the time everyone is going to say the buggy they have. I have the Losi 2.0 and it's working great for me. Couldn't ask for better. A friend of mine just bought a D8 and I am sure he will like his. He said the build was good and can't wait to drive it. I am sure what ever you choose you will be happy with. I would pick the buggy that have the best part support at your local hobby shop. Also look at do you want a kit, or do you want a Race Roller. Even though I recommend taking apart the roller to make sure everything has lock tight and put together right.

i want a kit, but then they have like a superstore for losi parts at the LHS. and no one has a 2.0. but people have d8's here and there. i havent seen a d8 is a HS yet. one more thing is that, if i get the d8, i can throw in a spektrum2.0, but with the eight, i have to get it at the LHS, most likely they dont have a spektrum2.0, most probably high end ones.

anyone else?

If your LHS has a big selection of Losi parts, than you're better off with the Losi. I haven't driven either of them but I hear the Losi is a "twitchy" buggy (very light on it's feet) The D8 on the other hand is a totally different "feeling" buggy feels more stable and easier to drive (again going by what I read and hear, not first hand knowledge). The Losi is a more expensive car, by about $100-$200 US, so that comes into play as well.

I'm sure the parts support is there for the D8, but I'd check first to make sure. The LAST thing you want is a car you can't get parts for when it breaks. Local parts support I think is THE most important thing to consider first. I always see what cars I can get parts for locally first, then compare those.

I've not driven the D8 so I'll leave that one alone. I picked up a 2.0 earlier this year and have never enjoyed an RC car this much. She is not twitchy so don't let that scare you off. By the sounds of it your LHS has plenty of parts support for the 2.0 so that has made your decision that much easier. Get yourself the 2.0 go through the entire kit before racing it and then go out have a blast. They are a real pleasure to drive and my lap times are significantly faster than when I had my MP9. That is no slight on the MP9 just speaks to my driving style.

Good luck!

I have a GS racing CL-1 advanced + and i love it .. great car and great price (little hard to get parts for locally) I emailed the distro for GS and got a response the same day .... anything you need just let me know he said ... great buggy also (like a tank)

So I thought I would get this engine at this great price. I ordered it at 4 today online and got a confirmation email. Tonight at 8 a gentleman from the store called and said they do not have any in stock even though the website said they did. He also said that that engine is discontinued. We canceled my order.

Will do some checking and see if Losi has discontinued the GRP tuned .28 engine.

Check back tomorrow to find my reply.

Don't waste your time ordering this engine from them! I see they have pulled that part from their website.

D8 all the way bud, nothing against losi but go with the D8, you won't be sorry!

Get whatever you like best. Its going to be your car, so do some research on both and see what you like best. If your hobbyshop supports losi than thats what I would go with.

gotspeed_2000 03-17-2009 08:00 PM

I'd get the one that you can afford. If you cannot afford to get the right gear to equip your buggy, then get the one that allows you to get the motor/radio you want. Both buggies are good, but if you have to sacrifice a decent radio to get one over the other, than I would get the one that is cheaper. Also, consider what the costs are to support one car over the other, and parts availability too at your local hobby shop. Good luck.
