I have called him twice and he answered the phone both times. 1st time was to ask about his fuel a few days ago, 2nd was today to order a case. We actually talked and he helped me out on a few things and i was glad to be able to help him out with something too. ED is cool in my book

Eds a straight up guy so for some, quit running your mouths..
anyway I never ran the motor maybe will someday but I can say that my buddy ran a nrand new one at motorama and used an 086 dynamite pipe
and he actually never touched the needles all weekend and had TONS of power, I was pretty impressed and he was getting 9+ out of the gate but unfortuatly he also doesnt like to get his car dirty so he drives a little on the easy side..lol sorry Chris..lol

Hey guys,

Wondering if you could help me...one of my Japanese friends is interested in the EBM5 and was wondering what fuel is reccomended.

We live in Okinawa Japan and there are only 4 types of fuel we can get:

- Cosmo Dirt Special, 30% Nitro, 14% oil

- Cosmo Field Master, 20% Nitro, 14% oil

- Klotz 30% Nitro, 12% oil

- Klotz 20% Nitro, 12% oil

I've e-mailed EB Mods but haven't received an answer. Can anyone suggest the best fuel to use out of the 4 listed above?

I have a modded 3 port race coming from Mark out of Massive Mods in Australia, and he said to use the Klotz 20% Nitro, 12% oil, but I'm not sure if that would be the reccomendation for the EBM5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

v/r,

- Paulie

Try the 20% if you need more power go to the 30%. As for shimming, the Ebm5 is shimmed much tighter than a stock 5 port. You can not take any shims out because there is only one.

Thanks! Which 20% though? I listed two. One has 14% oil and the other has 12% oil.

Ed's own brand of fuel runs with 11% oil...so I would assume the 12% would be a safe bet.

the engine is shimmed for 30% any good 30% that is availible to him would be good, klotz has allways made good products, i believe alot of the manufactures use there oil package so i would probably choose that out of the 2 that you have mentioned

Thanks! I'll tell him to use the Klotz 12% oil then.

I think he uses that anyway, but the 20% stuff.

Would there be adverse affects of using the 20% nitro even though you say the engine is set up for 30%?

Reason I ask is because I think he has a good amount of the 20% stuff at his house already...
