Default Glow Plug Lenght

Hi, may I know what are the different between the glow plug lenght on the screw track area? I can see from bear eye it really different a lot. Please advise. Thanks.

I don't know if this helps much, but almost every make of engine except O.S. uses "long" plugs. O.S. uses "short" plugs.

I don't know of the same applies to turbo engines/plugs, though.
