The LAST thing I want is to see the track shut down. (Track that I have run @ since 1985). Ill place a call to the people involved.

So someone said the "F" word. SO WHAT!!! We all do. It was said by mistake I would most likely say in front of your kid and I am sure the guy should have apologized but GEEZ!!! Going this far over that is just STUPID!! Get over it. Tell the guy you do not appreciate it and be more careful with your kid or kids in general and move on.

Take it up on the Hurricane forum this makes you look bad and if someone put me in a bad situation with my kid looking on I would be pretty pissed too but wrong place. When alls said and done it's a bunch of grown men playing with toy cars.

This is definitely not the road to be taken. If you have an issue WITH ONE INDIVIDUAL you need to man up and talk to him/her one on one. I understand the F-bomb thing, but as I know all of the club members personally, more than likely you prompted them to say it.

Another thought to be taken into consideration, is that this site is for friendly bantering and help/info with r/c's. Not some personal vendetta against people who run one of the nicest facilities in the world.

Thank you Hurricane Crew for what you do for us racers.

These guys give up there wreching time and free time to run the show on sundays and during BIG races..they deserve to have a sayso in how the track is run. No track in the area is so well maintained and kept up as lake park. Also if you were there sunday you had to realize the new stairs and pit lane..guess that stuff must just be free to do??? You can clearly see the money from that program goes back into the facility.

i've been racing and working there over a year, i think the quality of the program (best in florida) condition of the track and facilities and accessibility to the tack (7 days a week sun up to sun down) make it well worth the $8 members pay to race. there are way worse tracks to run on for $15-$20 and the progam is slow, sloppy and just a joke. i just show up on tack work days, put in my time, learn from more experienced drivers and "track designers" and have fun. there isn't that much money for anyone to "play" with i think. clay is not cheep, wood is not cheep, reebar is not cheep, pvc is not cheep, lights are not cheep but the program is. the problem is most people think once they payed their club fee all they have to do is show up and race.

2vracing- looks like if you were KING you'd be a club of one!

That track has been there for more than 20yrs and all the while enjoyed a great relationship with the county parks and rec (to my knowledge). Hell, it's world renowned! 400+ Electric racers from all over the world for the Winter Champs back in the day!

The only way it has endured is because there has somehow always been a group of guys that put the RC Hobby/Sport and their fellow racers before themselves and even their own families in some cases! The dedication and selflessness they demonstrate is to be commended and not ridiculed! I'm sure this scenario repeats at almost every other successful facility around the world.

To claim that the club does not announce track builds is ridiculous! You've obviously gotten the word somehow before if you claim to have helped in the past. Maybe if you tried to befriend some of the guys maybe one of them would even be inclined to call you and give you a heads up when it's track building time. But apparently you do not like handling things in a direct manner...

Hurricane crew, keep up the great work! I honestly do not know how you guys do it. Your hard work and commitment to the hobby/sport and fellow racers is admired and greatly appreciated by myself and many others! Please do not be discouraged in the least by this guy!

If you are not hiding, then what is your name? We would all like to know.

If it was not for Batman and his track crew, the track would still be closed down. The former club members got tired of running it and shut it down. Batman took the time to take charge and open the track back up and run it every week. Why aren't you running it if you think you could do better?
